It’s 2026. I have resolved to do more journalling, and slow down. It feels like Substack is the place to do it. My food videos on Tiktok and Instagram (Facebook too), feels…. fast.

It feels… “tell me everything I need to know about this place, fast fast fast!” and then the bombardment of comments “how much?” “ah, this girl eat free only” “so expensive!” “you putting on so much weight!” - I mean.. it’s social media. I’ve accepted that things move so fast people don’t really take the time to appreciate context anymore.

But it’s okay. I’ll slow down here on substack.

One of the things that I really want to document are the places that I go with my husband for our date nights, and one of the most memorable from last year’s series of date nights, is Loong Dim Sum.

Photos from this visit was actually from my media invitation when they first opened. I brought my son and my husband along for it, and because we loved it so much, we came back again date night on a separate occasion - no videos or photos from that day unfortunately, because I was just ‘living the moment’ without any photos and videos. Hehe.

Visit their website and you’ll see me at the cover! Haha!

Loong’s is a 4-storey restaurant establishment, with seating capacities on the 1st and 2nd floors. The photo above is the 2nd floor.

The 3rd floor is more like an office space, with a private dining/meeting room in case you need privacy with your dining party. Below, is the 4th floor.

Having been there, I would estimate that the 4th floor can seat comfortably 50-60 pax comfortably in a dining setting. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s interest to book this space for nikah events too.

The glass portion of this place (at the end there where the mic is!) is lit by natural sunlight. So, at night, you get to enjoy the moonlight! The back drop of my tea (below) is the moonlit space of the 4th floor. Vibes 10/10.

We sat the top floor towards the end of the evening to enjoy a little performance with the moonlit backdrop together with some dessert. #ravingreviews

So now that you know vibes was 10/10, I’ll show u the food. It was 10/10 too!

The photos below are of the food that we had during my first visit - their curated course menu, which include 4 courses of Dim Sum, from starters to desserts.

Let’s start with desserts :)

This is the 4th course, consisting of Loong’s Salted Egg Bao, Homemade Egg Tart with Bird nest, and Dessert of the day. My favourite in thie course is the Salted Egg Bao, and the tea. 10/10 for creativity and taste!

This is the Truffle Cystal Mushroom Dumpling, part of the 1st course.

During the event, we had sat together with another couple, who were commenting on the food together with us, and they were most mindblown by this one, and so was I. Not your usual Dim Sum, and the truffle flavour might catch you off guard too!

LOBSTER BROTH PUMPKIN DUMPLING

The next #ravingreviews item is this one - the Lobster Broth with Pumpkin Dumpling. That orange/brown elixir in the small tube is the omg-so-sedap lobster broth. While we were impressed with the Truffle Dim Sum, this Lobster Broth Dumpling topped it when it arrived at our table as part of the 2nd course.

HAR GOW (1st Course)
SIEW MAI (1st Course)

Siew Mai and Har Gow are staples of any Dim Sum shop, so their presence is merely to let everyone know that this is a legit Dim Sum shop, and that they can get their basics right. Things only got more interesting after these 2 dishes.

This was the 2nd course, lining up Lobster Broth Pumpkin Dumpling, Mint sauce crispy Tiger Prawn Rolls, and the last items whose name escapes me at the moment.

Just note that these are the dishes I enjoyed at their launch, so some of the items might be different when you visit them after reading this. For prices and updated menu, I’ve linked them in the button below!
