Having someone read it is scary...

Whenever I write something here, I try to not think too much about who will be reading it. I write primarily for myself, by trying to explain my thoughts and ideas I tend to get a clearer picture of myself.

This mentality is why I don't use my real name here, and why I don't have comments. To be crass, I don't write for you. Not that I don't care what you have to say, I have my email sprinkeled about, but I don't write to build a brand or become a popular blogger, that is my last desire.

I would never be able to handle trying to build a popular blog, just having the bubbles widget is hard enough. I admit, I tend to follow how many votes I get the hours after I publish, and I get a bit dissapointed whenever it stays at zero...

However, when it start to climb two double digits, it gets unerving. When I get an email, that is slightly scary, but that is still a non-public one-on-one. Whenever I find a post replying to my blog post, that is terrifying.

Is this the hit piece that will destroy my blog and my reputation as a whole? Well, no. More often than not, it's eithor someone agreeing with me, explaining why I'm dumb (respectfully), or just using one of my posts as a springboard for writing their own posts. People are always (ok, most of the time atleast) respectful here.

Not to say I discourage people createing response posts either, most times people have disagreed with me, it has grounded me in reality. At the end of the day, this blog uses just one of my many pseudonyms. No one here knows who I am in real life, and such, no one can judge my real person based on what I write, good or a bit dumb.

Before I end of, if you don't have a blog already, I recommend you get one. You don't have to try to become popular, actually, you should specifiaclly avoid that. It should be a space for you to write, for whatever reason you want to write, about whatever you want.

If that sounds scary, you can put as much distance between yourself and your blog as possible. Use a fake name, don't add a way to contact you, hell, you don't even need to publish it if that is what makes you bite the bullet. However, at the end of the day, whatever you write will probably make my day better, rather than worse, I can guarantee that.
