I’ve been looking forward to this conversation. I was an early reader of this book and proudly gave it my endorsement.
This is the book I wish I had growing up. Young Hady would have loved to read about brave and strong Latina women and the impact they had in the world.
To say this book is needed is an understatement. To say we need it especially right now doesn’t begin to describe the urgency for books like these.
I mention it during the show but it’s worth repeating that the only Latinx person I ever read about in US history was Cesar Chavez. Mind you there was maybe one sentence on him. Then the history books went back to their regularly scheduled programming.
So yeah, I was very happy to bring this book to my show and offer this important work a platform.
I want to end by sending love and light to Mama Bear (Ashley) and her partner-in-crime (Mirtle) for this masterpiece. Buy the book at your favorite online retailer or local indie bookstore.
And follow this incredible duo at Awesome Latinas: The Substack!
