#38 Power Rangers Time is close!

This is The Spicy Peruvian, a monthly-ish newsletter by Peruvian comic artist & writer Gustaffo Vargas. It will have updates, behind the scenes and comic projects I’m working on.

At MCM I had a very interesting conversation with comic creators about our work, we work in entertainment and try our best to make it special, to bring something humane to the table, whether they are projects close to our hearts, or big brands with a big lore.

And we never know how readers will take our work after is released… I’ve had very special, and emotional interactions with readers about my Peruvian Cyberpunk stories, many times about subjects and themes that we share, but sometimes complete unexpected connections that I’ve never imagined, simply amazing.

The same goes to bigger brands, sometimes they connect in a specific and unexpected way with different readers, and that makes this craft even more enjoyable.

Issue #0 is out at Comics Giveaway Day, and issue #1 has already been announced, so I can finally share some pages!

I’ll be making B Covers for the whole mini-series, now, let me show you my Cover for issue#1, and bit of the process:

On Sunday 3rd of May I signed copies of Power Rangers issue #0 at Forbidden Planet Edinburgh, and it was a delight, filled with readers from all ages!

I’ve been busy with Conventions, I was at MCM London where I met and caught up with amazing creators and readers, and last week I was at Auld Alliance Festival, organised by La Belle Adventure (if you visit Edinburgh, this shop is a must, filled with European comic books) with the French Institute of Scotland.
