we are soooo excited for our big 3rd birthday bash this saturday, 8/15/26 at secret riso club in bushwick. the party is 12 hours long if you haven’t heard already. so yes, that means we will be partying from 12pm saturday with drinks, snacks, bands, DJs, live screen printing, tattooing, and even a live panel discussion until midnight.

all the money fundraised from this event is used for the continuation of GUNK. about $900 (minimum) goes into the printing, shipping, and supplies associated with GUNK. that doesn’t get anyone on our team paid except for a small fee to two recurring feature writers. that means all the rest of the labor is currently donated because we love the ethos behind GUNK so much:

we can’t wait to also present to you our panel discussion titled “Documenting a Scene” that will happen at 4:30 pm on the 15th. Tickets towards the event also get you into this talk featuring Adlan Jackson (of Hellgate), Jojo Sommer (a recurring GUNK writer), Jenn Pelly (writer for Pitchfork, NYT, NPR, and more), and Chris Billias (a local NYC musician who has documented the scene on video for decades). moderated by your editors, you don’t wanna miss it.
the coolest part of the GUNK bday party is the music (in my opinion…but we are music guys..) but I think maybe the THIRD coolest thing after our panel has to be the raffle.

Venmo @seemal for entry. Each entry is $5 and will count towards one ticket. IRL (saturday) you can pay via cash or Zelle.
In the purchase description, indicate the number of the raffle item you would like your ticket to go towards. You can place multiple entries but specify how many entries per prize. You must also include your email address on the venmo charge.
Online raffle entries will be open until Thursday, August 13th at 12pm EST. In person raffle entries will continue at Secret Riso Club until we draw the winners on Saturday, 8/15/26. Winners announced at midnight.
If winners are not present in person, they will be contacted by email and will have 24 hours to respond to claim their prize. If we have not heard from you by then, we will choose another winner.
Once your prize is claimed, you have 1 week to pick up your prize in NYC. If you do not pick up the prize by this date, it will be forfeited.
