This week I got a pattern 🧩 , and a question for you ❓.
What I loved about this screen is:
It captures the critical data for Elastic to be able to personalize user’s experience.
It is a super smooth experience - very few clicks to go through.
It differentiates the long term intent (what I hope to get out of the product/service) and where I’m at right now in terms of my evaluation.
It is simple and not overwhelming at all.
Go to your product’s onboarding and audit it from user’s intent perspective, and from user’s journey/evaluation timeline perspective.
In one way or another you are doing UXR in your company (User Experience Research).
Maybe you and your cofounder interview users and take notes.
Maybe you are a product designer working at a 500-employee company and reading through past interviews.
Maybe you are even a UX Researcher at FAANG.
It doesn’t matter.
Because I have seen it once and again with different companies -and it is more important than you might realize.
How do your colleagues consume your UXR?
I’ve previously talked about data democratization for product teams with VP Product at Agoda, Ron Hoffman.
This is no different.
The delta between having raw interviews documented and having digested insights that are query-able is a make or break.
If you want your roadmap to be evidence-based and impactful, make sure to democratize your UXR , and your data.
In 2024 I’ll share what I’m doing to move from raw interviews to consumable insights.
If that’s your cup of tea consider subscribing :)
