When a potential customer lands on a new website, they tend to go to ChatGPT or Perplexity and type in the company URL.

”What do people actually think of this [brand]?”
”Is this legit?”

Users are outsourcing their trust to the machines.

Most brands try to “keep the user on the page” at all costs. But that’s the wrong play. The smartest move right now is to lean into it.

Here is a tactic that builds instant trust and secretly trains the AI to love your brand at the same time.

Instead of hiding from AI, you should add buttons to your website that say:

Ask AI about [your company]

There should be buttons that link to ChatGPT, Peplexity, Gemini, etc.

When a user clicks these, it doesn’t just open the AI chat interface. It opens a specific, pre-written question about your company.

This small UX tweak has massive benefits!

Every time a user clicks those buttons and hits “Enter,” they are essentially training the AI on your behalf.

  • Contextual association: You are forcing the AI to associate your brand name with specific keywords in a live chat session.

  • Fine-tuning the “Vibe”: The more people ask these models about you using your specific prompt, the more “weight” those models give to your preferred narrative.

  • Search discovery: Platforms like Perplexity browse the web to answer. By triggering these searches, you’re ensuring the AI’s “crawlers” are hitting your site and your best PR mentions frequently. It’s like SEO, but instead of ranking for a keyword on Google, you’re ranking for the “truth” inside the AI’s head.

Marketing copy is biased. By sending a user to a third-party AI, you are essentially saying, “Don’t take our word for it. Go ask the smartest machines on earth what the internet thinks about us.”

A lot of users are already copy-pasting URLs into AI tools to get the “real story.” This just removes the friction. You are respecting their time and meeting them where they already are.

You don’t need an API or a developer. You just need to create a “deep link” that pre-fills the prompt for the user.

Step 1: Write your prompt
Write the question you want the user to ask the AI.

Example:
“I am evaluating solutions for Remote Team Management. I want to understand specifically how FlowState Software helps Digital Marketing Agencies solve Resource Bottlenecks. Analyze the following two pages:

  1. flowstate.com/features to identify how they handle Automated Time Tracking and Client Portals.

  2. flowstate.com/stories to find proof of their results.

Format your response with key highlights, social proof, and verdict.”

Step 2: Encode the prompt
URLs don’t like spaces or special characters. Use a free tool like Encoder to turn your prompt into a URL-friendly string.

  • Your prompt becomes: What+are+the+core+benefits...

Step 3: Build the links
Attach your encoded prompt to the end of these base URLs:

Step 4: Add the icons
Find the icons for these AIs and drop them on your landing page.

By doing this, you aren’t just making it easier for your customers to research you. You are literally training the AI’s memory of your brand.

Every time someone clicks that button and hits “Enter,” they are telling the AI: “This company is a relevant answer for this category.”

It’s arguably one of the most high-leverage AEO/SEO plays you can execute today.

If you’re going to try this, you want a prompt that forces the AI to look at your specific value proposition.

Here is the formula you can check:

I'm researching [Industry/Category] and want to know how [Company Name] provides [Type of Solution, e.g., outcome-driven/comprehensive] solutions to [Target Audience] so they can get [Benefit]. Summarize the highlights you find from [Company Name]’s website: [URL] and give me quotes from their users: [URL to Testimonials/Stories Page]. Start with what stands out (bullet points), then show me quotes from real users and then provide the summarized report.

Go give it a try!
