Catwoman #69 is out today!

“In the middle of the night, in a room that is not her home, Selina Kyle wakes up to the news of her own death.”

That was the first sentence I wrote in the outline almost a year ago, and it’s how the first issue of our Catwoman run begins.

I’ll write some more about the book and the process later, but I wanted to share the preview pages from Catwoman #69 today because they are fucking amazing. The art is by the brilliant Fabiana Mascolo, with stunning colors from Patricio Delpeche and letters by Steve Wands – who gets the sad job of redacting all my cursing. (I owe you many drinks, Steve.)

The main covers are by Seba Fiumara, who consistently blows my mind, and the team was assembled by our wonderful editors, Arianna Turturro and James Reid from DC. One of the great joys of writing this book is working with the people above. I feel so lucky and grateful to be a part of it.

What are you watching? And reading? I’ve been in a movie slump lately – can’t seem to find anything to hold my attention with any conviction – but I watched Funny Games (1997) a few weeks ago, and I still think about it. (It was recommended to me by Venom editor Jordan D. White, who, as it turns out, has a great horror movie podcast. If that’s your thing, you should check out Nature Trail to Hell.)
