After all, the project is a social tool, and it is useless without users. No matter how elegant the code, how pure the decentralization, or how sound the governance model in theory, a tool that people cannot or will not use fulfills no social function. It becomes an artifact, not a utility. If visioned Grin as a technical experiment or personal masterpiece, not as a tool for mass adoption.

Result is:

  • Bugs persist for years.

  • Failed roadmap and development promises.

  • Early developers and talented contributors leaving out of frustration.

New Community Council Formation

A new Grin Governance Council (GCC) has been established, comprising members from both the Community Council (CC) and core contributors. As of 2026, the council has merged 63 Bitcoin allocated for development.

  • The release of **Grinventions Python 0.5** has been completed, supporting ongoing development efforts. [Read more](https://forum.grin.mw/t/should-the-cc-donate-to-grinvention-mimblewimble-py/10942/34).

Nano-GPT Integration Proposal
  • A proposal to add Grin as a currency to Nano-GPT did not gain traction among developers or Council members.

Wikipedia Page Attempts
  • Efforts to create a Wikipedia page for Grin have not materialized, leaving visibility issues for the project.

Core Developer Update
  • Yeastplume, long time core developer, has stepped back from active development.

The 2020 Roadmap indicates that many of the RFC proposals remain unrealized, signaling a governance- community leadership mismatch and commitment to development efforts.
