If only you knew how many SEO-driven articles I’ve written on the ‘capsule wardrobe’ for all the magazines and brands I’ve worked with. It is the ultimate card every editor pulls out of their sleeve whenever traffic needs a boost, and it never fails.
I don’t know if I myself would ever come around to the idea of a capsule wardrobe if it hadn’t been for the modest closet in my London apartment. Four drawers, few hooks by the front door and a rail that’s constantly bending under the weight of my boyfriend’s waxed Barbour jacket, and that’s the entire storage system we have in our flat.

I like reaching for the same pair of jeans five days in a row: if they fit me well in any phase of the cycle and work with every pair of shoes I own, that means I made a good purchase.
Last summer, my go-to wardrobe consisted of a The Little Door pajama set, Azi shorts and top, 2019 Prada Nomad sandals, an ultra-light Casey Casey trench, black Miu Miu slipper mules, two skirts, a few colorful T-shirts, and one single pair of Prada Linea Rossa sunglasses that I wore with everything mentioned above. With this lineup, I travelled around the globe, and I can’t wait for the weather to let me wear it all again (I just need to replace the torn pajama bottoms).
My winter ‘capsule’ was built around a mens Dries van Noten coat in navy, a Prada workwear jacket, men’s Prada boots on a small heel, green/red/brown scarves, and corduroy trousers (dark beige from Lime, light beige from COS, and red from Rohe).

The idea of a ‘little’ trench coat with slightly shortened Prada-way sleeves, as if I’ve outgrown it, and a mid-thigh length, had been living in my head for a while, but I didn’t even know what were the keywords for this type of search.

I doubt it was designed to be ‘little’ in that sense, but I tried on a size Small despite being a confident Large and it fit exactly how I wanted.
