This week’s California Fly Fishing Report has been completed and can be viewed by clicking on the link below. The basic takeaways are that, with the exception of tailwaters, water temperatures get quite warm in the afternoons, so it’s best to get off the water by11 am. The good news is that the upper Sac and the McCloud have some cooler water temperatures, which means that the fishing has been pretty good. Anywhere you can find tailwaters, the fish should be actively feeding.
August is a good time of the year to begin fishing terrestrials such as hoppers and ants, and also crawdads. Check out the complete report below. Make sure you read the report on the Upper Sac.
