Hello Musical Friends-
For the last 10 months, since December 1, 2025, I know all of you have been contemplating the question: will there be a Green Monkey Records Christmas album in 2026? Well the answer, dear friends, is fuck yeah! Ho ho ho! This will be our fourteenth Green Monkey Charity Xmas album. Last year, after taking a couple years off, we had 30 jolly songs. So many that I had to split it into two volumes. Just crazy.
This is the Official 2026 Call for Submissions! How’s it work?
It will be the usual drill:
You come up with your Christmas song. It can be your own composition or it can be a cover of a beautiful Christmas classic.
Please notify me at your earliest convenience that you intend to submit.
Record your Christmas song - make it shiny and pretty and then send it to tom@greenmonkeyrecords.com. I will master your track so it plays nice with everyone else’s. Submit your song no later than Sunday, Nov 22 - the album will release Tuesday, Dec 1. Sooner if possible. I don’t guarantee I’ll use your song, but the odds are with you. I have only rejected one song in 13 albums.
If you have a rather merry Christmas song that you’ve previously recorded/released but which has never been on a Green Monkey Records Christmas album, is it cool to submit that? Sure, why not?
With your submission include Lyrics, Credits (including producers, performers, songwriters and publishing - if you have publishing). A short bio is nice if you can manage it. Bio not required.
If you’ve got a band/artist picture you can send it - if it’s got a Christmassy look, even mo’ betta’. However, pictures ain’t required either. And I don’t guarantee that I’ll use them.
As always, all the money we get will go to charity. You get none. I get none. We’ve given all the money to MusiCares for the last 10 or so years but I might switch it to some local Olympia charity that helps homeless people. We’ll see, but all the money will go to help somebody that can use the help.
If you make a groovy video of your song and send it to us, we will post that on the Green Monkey Records YouTube page.
Your Christmas song will be posted somewhere for eternity, wherever songs go for eternity, unless you tell me to take it down. “Tom! I don’t want my Christmas song on the internet anymore!” In which case I will take it down. I think maybe that’s happened once before. Maybe.
Questions?

Ps. If you are desperate for a festive tune, you can even cover one of my many Tom Dyer Xmas songs. I did it myself last year (Fruitcake)! People covering my Christmas songs will no doubt get preferential treatment. Ho Ho!
