Brooke Forbes, lawyer, author and survivor from Newcastle, NSW joins the program to discuss her new book Survival is an Instinct. A book that blends fiction and non-fiction, creating a multi-layered portrayal of surviving mental health diagnoses and sexual assault. Survival is an Instinct asks whether justice can be achieved through the very act of surviving, looks at where the legal system is failing survivors and talks to the exploitation of workplace power dynamics. Tash Wark, Victorian secretary of the Australian Services Union (ASU) joins the program to talk about the industrial campaign to win better wages and conditions for council workers across 8 councils through a multi-employer agreement.
