The celebrations arrive.
Some like to spend their time in crowds. They love the festivities and the parties. Surroundings rich with commotion bring feelings of belonging and happiness.
Others like to spend time alone. They love the absence of anything resembling kinship or connection outside their strict parameters. A pin drop breaks the silence of the books they read or the shows they watch.
No fireworks for me this year, but no seclusion. A day, night, and weekend to enjoy the occasion with a blend of sounds and serenity. Time keeps rocketing forward, and 250 years goes by in the blink of an eye.
Independence forever.
