If you follow me on Instagram (here or here) or LinkedIn, you probably saw my announcement about CONNECTOME being selected as one of the art exhibits for Science After Dark: STEM Art Walk at the Pacific Science Center!

If you didn’t see the announcement, now you know! Here’s the video I shared:

Those of you living in Seattle or the PNW know the Pacific Science Center as the iconic building at the heart of Seattle Center, sitting beneath the watchful gaze of the Space Needle. It’s such a cool space, and in my mind really represents a celebration of science, innovation, and optimism. I’m so excited to be part of this event!

The room I’m demoing from is called “The Mind’s Eye” - how appropriate! The exhibits in this particular room demonstrate optical phenomenon, binaural vision, etc., - a nice pairing for a VR demo.

Check out the Science After Dark: STEM Art Walk page to see all of the participating artists - several of whom I know through the Seattle Creative Code community and a few others I met through the Shine On Seattle event last year.

The event is Saturday, May 9th - if you’re in the area and plan to attend, message me for a discount code!

In my last newsletter, I shared that I had a build of CONNECTOME running on Apple Vision Pro (and Pico). I still do. The end.

Just kidding, I’ve made a lot of progress since the last note and have started staging content in the Apple Store and am very close to kicking off the build review process with Apple!

I know what you may be thinking:

Why bother? Who’s even using that device?

I get it. But you know what, I just can’t not do this. I feel like CONNECTOME belongs on Apple’s headset. It’s a beautiful headset, design forward, a bit misunderstood… just like CONNECTOME 😉

See what I did there?

Anyway, more to share as this becomes more real. In the meantime, here’s a gameplay video I created for the App Store:

And one more:

Reminder: If you have an Apple Vision Pro (or know someone who does) and want to try an Early Access build, please reach out!

A HUGE thank you to Jerome Vallet (@guidemetaquest) for running a key giveaway contest for CONSTELLATIONS!

I don’t have CONSTELLATIONS Updates to share this round. I’ve been focused primarily on the AVP and Pico effort. The good news is that this work benefits CONSTELLATIONS as well (including controller support!)

That said, I’ll be turning my attention back to CONSTELLATIONS shortly with a goal to get the illustrations work wrapped up and shared soon.

For those of you who have reached out since my last newsletter - thank you! I love hearing from you. Please keep those thoughts/messages coming, and I hope to see some of you at the Pacific Science Center on May 9th!
