I think this Monarch Butterfly is one of the pale morphs that can be found on the island. They’re also on Oahu, while Kauai has a brown morph.
There’s often things left behind on the coast. This was a stray slippah at Mahukona.

A Black-crowned Night Heron looking to do a bit of fishing one early morning.
I saw this Spotted Eagle Ray last weekend and it might be the biggest one I’ve ever seen. The head was huge. Compare it with a photo I posted last month (below) of a juvenile Eagle Ray.
