I am stopping compiling the list of rocket, drone, missile and gliding bomb attacks because if the threat hits a target the information appears in other sections. If not then it’s wasting my and your time.

The fact that Fedorov called for an election during the war does not mean he has lost his senses. My opinion is that he continues to build the case for himself as a reformer and his ex-colleague Zelensky as evil and corrupt. Further given the skill with which he propelled Zelensky’s presidential campaign in 2019 I think he has enough time to organize a credible political force, take office, and really do a clean sweep. I think this will be accomplished without huge expenditure as well.

Mykhailo Fedorov’s speech - Before briefly going into my own thoughts about the speech that former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov delivered yesterday, asking for new elections, I would commend to you a video by Kiara Rudek, the Leader of the Holos (“Voice”) Party, one of the opposition parties in the Ukrainian Parliament. Watch every second.

Rudek believes that Fedorov was wrong in asking for new elections during wartime. For starters, it would violate Ukraine’s Constitution that expressly prohibits new elections to be held during a state of emergency.

Rudek also pointed out that yesterday the Parliament has confirmed President Zelenskyy’s nomination of Yevhan Khamara as the new Defense Minister. Therefore, this chapter of Mykhailo Fedorov’s career is now effectively over. She said that yesterday only a small number of protestors supporting Fedorov, showed up near the Parliament Building, compared to thousands last weekend. There is respect for democratic institutions.

On the other hand, calling for new elections might have been astute political move by Fedorov. It might put him in the front of other pretenders for President Zelenskyy’s job, including former Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny and others. It also might help unlock the restriction that Elon Musk has placed, on Ukraine using Starlink during its drone attacks on Russian territory. Musk has also gone on record as wanting to see Ukraine hold elections. There may be no elections during the State of Emergency, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no electioneering.

Petrivka – Toward the end of her video, Rudek spoke about the destruction of the Petrivka Book Market two days ago by a Russian missile. She talked about the time she spent there, and what the book market meant to her. She almost started crying.

The Petrivka Book Market, as well as the Petrivka Market in general, is one of those places that defined Kyiv, and in some way it will again. The destruction of the Petrivka Book Market is only the latest example of Russia’s focus on trying to destroy Ukraine’s cultural heritage. There have been at least two book repositories in Kyiv that has been destroyed, and one in Kharkiv.

Last June, the collection of costumes used in thousands of Ukrainian movies was destroyed. Unfortunately, Russia has hired a succession of sick individuals whom Russia pays for providing the coordinates of places like the Petrivka Book Market, so that they can be targeted for destruction. There must be a special place in Hell for these people.
