In Luke 10, Jesus sends ordinary people into the harvest and teaches them to begin with prayer. This message reminds us that God has placed people in our lives whom He is inviting us to pray for and point toward Jesus. As everyday missionaries, we are sent into everyday places to faithfully engage the people God has already placed around us.
In Luke 8, Jesus meets a man whose life has been devastated by evil, isolation, and shame. But what evil destroys, Jesus has authority and power to restore. In this message from our Sent series, we see that Jesus restores people to the life they were created for and then sends them to tell what God has done.
In Week 1 of Sent, we look at Luke 19 and the story of Zacchaeus to see the heart of Jesus for lost people. Jesus entered Jericho with intentional presence, loved Zacchaeus before he changed, recognized his receptivity and repentance, and overcame the criticism of the crowd. What kind of view of God can carry you through uncertainty, suffering, blessing, disappointment, and whatever tomorrow may bring? Psalm 89 reminds us that God is beyond compare, sovereign over all things, perfect in character, and the greatest blessing His people can know. The psalmist’s questions were real, but his view of God was so big that they could not crush his faith.
What do you pray when what God planted feels ruined? Psalm 80 teaches us to bring our grief, disappointment, and unanswered questions to God. Together we'll discover how the cry, "Restore us," becomes a prayer of hope, trusting that God can restore what only He can save.
Psalm 84 asks a question all of us need to consider: will what we are pursuing in life truly satisfy us? In this message, we see that good gifts were never meant to become our greatest desire. The psalm invites us to delight in God’s presence, depend on His strength, and become convinced that nothing is better than Him.
Psalm 77 is for anyone who has felt anxious, overwhelmed, frustrated, depleted, or desperate for hope. In this message, we see Asaph cry out to God, wrestle honestly with his distress, and learn to reframe his prayer by remembering the deeds, miracles, and works of the Lord. When anxiety makes the future feel uncertain, remembering what God has done gives us confidence to trust Him again.
Psalm 75 speaks into the moments when life feels unstable, anxious, and out of control. In this message, we see that God answers our anxiety by reminding us of His authority: He determines the appointed time, He holds everything together, and He invites us to live like He is in control.
