Jesus says the real mess in our lives doesn’t start on the outside. It starts in the heart. And right after He says that, a woman from far outside the “right” group comes to Him. She doesn’t have the right background, but she has a heart full of courage and hope.
Her words—simple, honest, desperate, show what’s inside her. And Jesus sees it. He sees where it comes from. Not from rules, not from clean hands, not from perfect behavior… but from a heart that believes He can help.
It’s a reminder for us: what comes out of our mouths shows what’s growing inside. And Jesus pays attention to the source. He notices the quiet faith, the small cry for mercy, the honest “Lord, help me.”
That’s the kind of heart He calls great.
