Manage Well - Final Posting

It’s time. I’ve come to a transition point in my writing and it would seem that this is a good time to conclude the postings for “Manage Well.”

On the one hand, I have two book publications just out or about to be published: To Be An Elder: Vocation in our Senior Years. And All Things Made New: Living the Metaphors of the Christian Life, which was released on Tuesday June 30.

In the first, I explore the question of work and vocation for those who are in what are typically spoken of as our retirement years. In the second I make a contribution to the question of human flourishing: the Christian vision for human transformation. I have been tending two these two project over the last couple of years.

And I have been posting this weekly substack on governance over that same time period. This has been gratifying and I have very much appreciated the feed-back from those who have followed these week to week. But it has run its course and I now need to focus my attention elsewhere.

I have two shorter writing projects in which I am very much invested: “Can we Agree to Disagree” – and how diversity of perspective and opinion is actually a strength and vital to our capacity to engage in common cause”. And “Can we be Evangelical and Ecumenical?” And why being both is not only possible but essential in these times. And then also, I have a more substantive writing project on my desk that will require focused attention: the question of hopeful resilience.

So, a transition point. Two book publications out, and setting aside the weekly substack posting.
