We’re calling on SMEs, startups, cooperatives, and eco-tourism or plantation-linked ventures in the Knuckles landscape across Kandy and Matale, working with kithul, spices, sustainable tourism, or novel food processing. THRIVE Day, a community event for the Circular Economy in the Food Sector Programme cohort, began with Leela Bhoomi (Playful Earth) — a creative, emotion-led session facilitated by Poornima Jayasinghe of CoCA - Collective of Contemporary Artists, followed by THRIVE sessions conducted by our Founder Randhula De Silva, Director & Advisor Arj Wignaraja and Director Vihangun Ariyaratne💡We wrapped up with Lonali Rodrigo’s hands-on Circular Design activity, bringing innovative thinking into practice.

The Thrive North Design Lab was held in Vavuniya for the 8 companies from Vavuniya and Mannar districts. The session guided entrepreneurs through the THRIVE Business Model Canvas, covering organisational lifelines, process mapping, customer analysis, digital marketing, and setting OKRs to track their business progress as part of the WUSC GRIT Project.

MeshGround delivered the Weathering Grounds Residency in collaboration with ClimArts and Alleyne Dance 🎭 , supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture Programme, bringing together emerging choreographers, dancers, and physical theatre practitioners across Sri Lanka for a powerful exchange exploring climate, care, and justice.

Congratulations to Lakmini Weerakkody, Founder & Managing Director of Lak Nature International, for representing Sri Lanka at the IFAD Governing Council in Italy, where she highlighted young entrepreneurs’ role in rural development and food systems, bringing back global insights to support women-led enterprises and exports.

Lonali Rodrigo, Founder and Lead Designer of House of Lonali was featured for her collaboration with Danish streetwear designer Nikojai Storm under the EU–Sri Lanka Craft Matchmaking initiative 🧵 Her work was showcased in London.

Holiday Trail Ceylon is expanding! After the success of Bush Loft Mobile Safari Camp, they’re launching a permanent, sustainability-focused safari near Yala, emphasising presence and connection with nature rather than just wildlife spotting.
