Good news for the Congregation! The cat is finally out of the bag, there is a release date for the highly anticipated Ghovie 2.0.

Today, the Italian cinema website thespacecinema.it has listed Ghost’s second concert movie under the title “Ghost - Skeletour World Tour”. After a teaser for the movie was posted on Ghost socials on May 12th of this year, featuring Papa V Perpetua’s bedazzled skull mask, many were left wondering when the film would arrive to cinemas and IMAX theaters. Well, the wait finally has an end!

Save the date, it’s the 26th of August 2026!

The cinema website furthermore lists the film at a runtime of 1 hour and 55 minutes

As of this given moment, no official confirmation or statement from the Ghost team has been made. We reached out to The Space Cinema but had not, at the time of writing, received any confirmation of the listing’s accuracy. We will update this article as soon as we receive a response.

The footage for the movie was shot during the two tour dates of the Skeletour in Mexico City in late September 2025. The chosen venue was the Palacio de los Deportes, where previously Cardinal Copia ascended to the rank of Papa Emeritus IV in 2020. According to reports, the movie was shot on 16mm. Not much else is known about the movie so far, including whether or not the movie will be purely a concert film or if it will contain lore segments like its predecessor Rite Here Rite Now. No official cast and crew have been announced.

The anticipation is rising just like the temperatures here in Europe, and fans are hoping for a trailer drop any day. But with at least a release date in sight, the wait will hopefully be more bearable. So, get ready for August to end with a bang, get yourself Ritual-Movie-Ready and stay tuned for more news as they come out. As always, we will keep you updated!
