Wark re-elected to AMO Board of Directors
Huron County chief administrative officer Meighan Wark will continue her tenure with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).
Wark was re-elected to the AMO’s board of directors, where she will have a say in the organization’s policy decisions and handle priorities of municipalities across the province.

The announcement followed the conclusion of the annual AMO conference Aug. 16-19 in Ottawa.
“Municipalities are facing increasingly complex challenges, from infrastructure and housing to the delivery of essential services. Working together through AMO gives us a stronger voice and an opportunity to advocate for practical, sustainable solutions that meet the needs of our communities,” said Wark in an Aug. 20 release.
AMO represents 444 Ontario municipalities combining to strengthen their voice, advocate for change on the local scale, and ensure their concerns can play a key role in decisions made by the provincial and federal governments.
“Hundreds of municipal governments from across Ontario benefit from their membership in AMO. At the same time, their contribution and commitment to working together makes all communities stronger,” said Riley Brockington, president of AMO.
Huron County and all members of AMO continue to call upon the higher levels of government to take action on key initiatives.
Among the requests from AMO are long-term infrastructure funding, full provincial funding for health and social services, and investment to combat the homelessness crisis in Ontario.
