I like to read a book before bed to help me get drowsy. Unfortunately I often get sucked in and keep reading until an ungodly hour. My poor wife ends up propping up pillows or covering her eyes with blankets because I’ve got the lamp on.
To promote marital harmony, I found a book light on Amazon. It was only $10 and the picture showed a woman happily using it in broad daylight for some reason.
The “some reason” is the book light was photoshopped into a stock photo.
So I can’t rely on her to gauge customer satisfaction with the product. That’s a shame because I also wanted to know if she was satisfied with the cigarette holder ring she also “uses” while reading. You know, just in case I take up smoking while reading in bed. (I’m sure my wife won’t mind.)
Photo trickery aside, I went ahead and bought the book light. Testing it out (at night), it worked as expected for me, the reader.
I flipped the book around to see what my wife would see. Darkness, as expected. It passed the test with flying colors.
Now I can read as late as I want and still be eligible for husband-of-the-year. At least I thought so until my wife awoke with a horrible fright.
She thought a creepy, glowing, multi-chin monster was after her. Back to the drawing board. Perhaps I should upload this as a customer review to warn others.
