Did you know that 95% of the world’s neck pillows are located at airport kiosks?
If you did, you’re lying because I made that up. Speaking of deceit, I saw a scammy airport kiosk advertisement that made me hot under the collar. So hot, in fact, I had to remove my neck pillow.
Waiting to board my flight at the Montreal airport, I sat across from a kiosk selling tech gadgets with the following poster.
Is he the father of those boys? If so, shouldn’t he show some concern for his children? They seem to be in distress. Are freaking out because they think their dad is unresponsive?
Is he an unlucky stranger? It’s awkward to be stuck sitting beside unaccompanied minors. Maybe they’re frightened of his weird glowing headphones.
But the main problem is: That’s not how noise cancelling headphones work!!!
This advertisement is a lie. They do not drown out what you subjectively consider to be “le chaos.” Noise cancelling tech only eliminates constant background sounds like the airplane’s engine, not random sounds like speech or crying kids.
I think the dude in the picture is just pretending to not hear those kids. He’s seething mad that he was tricked by a deceptive kiosk poster. He should have spent his money on a bunch of neck pillows to build a soundproof cocoon for himself.
