Happy Friday💚

This week, fashion was all about expanding influence.

Adidas blurred the line between workout wear and everyday style, Loewe and Armani invested in a new generation of cultural ambassadors, and Chanel looked beyond fashion to appoint its next financial leader.

Meanwhile, Gucci shared the latest results of its sustainability strategy, and Dior announced a deeply personal destination for its next show.

Now, let’s get into this week’s biggest fashion stories 💚

Adidas has launched Originals Sport, a new women’s training collection combining performance technology with the distinctive design language of Adidas Originals.

Inspired by the iconic Superstar tracksuit, the collection includes leggings, bras, tank tops, onesies and layering pieces designed to move seamlessly between the gym and everyday life.

The launch reflects a wider shift in activewear: women no longer want to choose between functionality and personal style.

Singers Tate McRae and Emilia Mernes, alongside volleyball player Harper Murray, front the campaign, representing the collection’s mix of performance, confidence and individuality.

Loewe has named British actor David Jonsson its newest brand ambassador, marking one of the first major appointments under creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

His appointment confirms that the house is continuing to look beyond traditional celebrity partnerships, choosing emerging talents whose creative approach reflects the brand’s own values.

Olympic freeskier Eileen Gu has been appointed global makeup ambassador for Giorgio Armani.

Gu will appear in campaigns for Lip Maestro and Armani Dolci Makeup Blush, joining a roster that already includes Cate Blanchett, Sydney Sweeney and Kendall Jenner.

The partnership brings together athletic achievement, fashion and beauty, with Gu embodying Armani’s idea of modern femininity: ambitious and disciplined, but also effortless, elegant and authentic.

Chanel has selected Hélène de Tissot as its next global chief financial officer.

After more than two decades at spirits group Pernod Ricard, de Tissot will join Chanel in October 2026 and officially take over the position in January 2027.

She will succeed Philippe Blondiaux, who is retiring after 15 years with the house.

De Tissot’s experience in finance, technology and international business will support Chanel’s continued investments in craftsmanship, creativity, client experiences and talent.

Dior will stage its first-ever fashion show in Ireland on December 4, 2026, presenting its Fall 2027 collection inside the Old Library at Trinity College Dublin.

The location carries personal meaning for creative director Jonathan Anderson, who began his fashion career in Dublin.

It also connects Dior with an important chapter in fashion history. Dublin was the birthplace of legendary Harper’s Bazaar editor Carmel Snow, who coined the expression “New Look” after seeing Christian Dior’s debut collection in 1947.

For Anderson, the show will therefore be more than a spectacular destination event. It will connect his own beginnings with the history of the house he is now leading.

Gucci has released its 2025 Equilibrium Impact Report, outlining the progress made across its environmental and social commitments.

The company renewed its Gender Parity Certification in Italy and reported that women represent 63.4 percent of its workforce and 57.3 percent of management positions.

On the environmental side, Gucci reduced its absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent year-on-year and achieved a 45 percent reduction compared to its 2022 baseline.

Best Fashion Companies to Work For: The Complete Guide to the Fashion Industry

If you want to get a job in fashion, you are probably already familiar with some of the most iconic names in the industry — Dior, Chanel, Prada, Vogue. These are the companies most people think of first when they imagine a fashion career.

But the fashion industry is a full ecosystem. It is made up of dozens of different types of companies, hundreds of brands, and thousands of career opportunities that most people never even consider.

One of the biggest mistakes I see when working with students who want to break into fashion is narrowing the job search to a handful of dream brands and missing an enormous range of opportunities that could get them into the industry faster — and sometimes even give them a better experience to reach those dream brands later.

This guide covers every type of fashion company you can work for, what careers each one offers, and how to think about which is right for you.
