Last week I went to Miami to submit for my visa for the second time. The consulate visit was nothing like last year. No interview this time. Instead, they sent me straight to the counter where you pay fees and turn in documents (so. many. documents.) The guy working there who was this jolly man (he honestly reminded me of Santa Claus if Santa Claus were Italian) told me he remembered me. Turns out he’s from the same region where I live in Italy.
He asked what happened when I got denied last time, then said there’s good news. Even though the staff in the front are the same, ‘behind the scenes’ there is a new consular general, new staff and new procedure. There was no interrogation interview needed and
