Woodward Manor is ready for its first official cover reveal.
Actually… make that two cover reveals.
I’ve created two dramatically different designs for The Winter Curse. Both capture the story’s gothic atmosphere, winter setting, and mysterious sapphire—but only one can become the visual foundation for The Cursed Heirs of Woodward Hill.
And today, the Thornwood Coven gets to choose.
Coven members, step into the design chamber…
I’m not going to tell you which cover I prefer—because I honestly love them both! I want your honest first reaction to help me decide.
More importantly, I’m not simply choosing a cover for one book. The winning design will establish the style for the entire series, with each future cover receiving its own gemstone, color palette, and story-specific details as applicable.
So let’s meet our contenders.
This version is atmospheric and story-forward.
It places Woodward Manor at the center of the mystery, surrounded by winter darkness, snow-covered mountains, and the faint glow of Christmas. The sapphire anchors the foreground, hinting at the strange inheritance carried through the Woodward bloodline.
Additionally, there are small story elements that are beside the gem—the key to the west wing, the iron triquetra, the rowan crosses.
Future covers in this style would feature the manor—or another important location from the story—along with each heir’s gemstone and symbolic clues connected to the mystery.
This version is elegant, symbolic, and designed to feel collectible.
The gothic arch echoes the architecture of Woodward Manor, while the sapphire rests inside a thorned snowflake representing Blake’s gift, the winter setting, and the curse tightening around him. The title becomes the star of the cover, surrounded by metallic filigree and subtle story details.
Future covers in this style would retain the same frame and layout while changing the gemstone color, stained-glass accents, the stone setting, the building featured at the bottom, and tiny seasonal and/or story details for each book.
Please choose the cover that BEST answers this question:
Trust your first instinct, my darklings.
The manor is waiting to discover which face it will show the world.
Thank you so much for your input!!
Ever yours in the shadows,
Gina 🖤
