Time to meet another Spark from my upcoming game, NOVA 2!
This week we’re meeting Weaver, one of the new Sparks models. NOVA 2 marks a jump forward in the timeline, and that means some new Sparks have been developed as humanity becomes more settled on Obron.
Unlike the murderbot that is Pyre, who we met last time, Weaver is much more of a control Spark. While they can bite the heads off enemies, they really shine when they have the opportunity to web up tons of enemies and manipulate them throughout the fight.
Check out this video that introduces Weaver and shows you three different ways you might build this spidery Spark.
Weavers are part of Wave 3 of Spark production. With the emergence of humanity’s greatest new threat (more on that in a future email), the scientists of Helios were tasked with creating a new generation of Sparks.
Deep in an area known as the black vale, caves were discovered that were full of what can only be described as “glass spiders.” These creatures were nearly invisible, as was their webbing. Their webs had countless trapped creatures, including Hellions, Corvus scouts, and Lunar Cultist acolytes. There was even a long lost Voyager Spark.
This was the inspiration behind the Weaver Spark, a model that would tangle up foes and trap them for a future meal (aka getting killed by one of your Spark friends).
Weaver is one of the Sparks you can choose in NOVA 2, coming to Kickstarter later this year. Make sure to follow and share the campaign page to get notified when it launches!
Next time we’ll re-meet one of our friends from NOVA 1: Voyager.
