Hey everyone,
This month really felt like it flew by. So, what’s been going on in the world of Gila RPGs this April?
I’m partnering up with Sasquatch Games to bring their awesome roguelike TTRPG, WYRD, to print!
WYRD uses a modified ruleset of RUNE, and is its own standalone game. RUNE fans will find familiar combat rules coupled with some really cool changes including loot tables, companions, and leveling up your character!
Preorder your copy of WYRD today. Zines will be shipped out in May. And while you’re there, make sure to check out my other publishing partnership with Aaron Jolliffe and his amazing Queen of the Pass RUNE trilogy.
I’ve started up a West Marches play-by-post campaign using my WYRM system in my discord server and it’s been a lot of fun! If you haven’t tried a PbP style game before, I highly recommend it.
It’s also been helpful in terms of refining the WYRM rules. Expect to see a core rules update, as well as a WYRM Crawl update, coming in the next week or so. As always, WYRM is totally pay-what-you-want. So if you want to check out a new OSR style game that has a Gila take on combat, check out WYRM!
I’ve been posting a lot of videos for NOVA 2 on my YouTube channel. Each video highlights a particular Spark, and how you might build them using NOVA 2’s new rules for character customization.
Check out the latest one on Warden!
I posted a couple cool things to Patreon this month!
I showed off what LUMEN 3.0’s exploration rules look like and the danger room rules for my fantasy mech game, currently called HELM.
Support on Patreon continues to be one of the best ways to support me as a full-time game designer, so consider becoming a patron!
That’s it for April! I’ve spent a lot of this month revamping my website, so I’d appreciate it if you checked it out.
Next month is going to be about WYRM updates and getting WYRD shipped out, and then I take my nice long vacation in June.
Until next time,
-Spencer, Gila RPGs
