Today, I found out that law enforcement agencies around the U.S. are signing up to use racial profiling for deportation reasons. They can basically stop brown people on the street and demand proof of citizenship. One county in Idaho, where I live, signed up for this task force. I'm nearly one hundred percent sure the rest will follow suit.
I'm Asian-American, born a citizen on Clark AFB (Philippines), and I don't want to leave my house.
I'm applying to get an official copy of my birth certificate, a.k.a. my consular report of birth abroad that proves I'm American, that I can carry with me along with my STAR card and passport.
How did we get here?
