David Lally · General Hospital Snark

Another scattershot week of plots that seem to be going somewhere if only people would stop talking about them and start acting on them. Lots of setups for future plots. Drewfus continues his apology tour to better his situation; the plan for Sonny was talked about and talked about while Sonny’s chief adversary couldn’t believe that Sonny could go legit. But like a slow slog to a grand finale, the instant ramen one car accident reached a crescendo as Curtis took his long, slow, last day to report to jail. This got way more attention than it deserved and it just made the entire storyline even more ridiculous than it already was. So let’s see if we can make sense of all the randomness.

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM….:

1.) Lucy knows Joe is a cop. Why would she show him such a luxury apartment? Is the rent really that great of a deal on the waterfront?

“This apartment is aspirational. As you should be. So what if it may be a bit costly. You deserve this!”

2.) Wouldn’t a Softball League meeting be at night, not in the middle of the afternoon?

3.) This is a general pet peeve with a specific example. Wouldn’t Jason and Britt be at least talking on the telephone or texting since every single thing in their conversation was as if they were just casual acquaintances running into each other on the street, or in this case, Snark Park catching each other up on their lives. It’s been days since Jason quit the mob and he hasn’t informed the woman he loves? I mean, Jason is only NOW finding out what happened to Britt after he got shipped off to Jakarta! Do these folks not talk unless they randomly run into each other?

“Where is this meeting anyway?” Britt wonders.

4.) So Sonny has land to sell to Anna? He certainly has a diversified portfolio. Also, he’s in therapy? Since when?

5.) Apparently, there is a family barbeque on the horizon and Donna and Sonny are tasked with the invitations.

6.) I guess Curtis is more hopeful about not being in prison for 10 years after making love to Jordan because he tells her that this will get him through the next two years.

DREW, NINA & BRENNAN: Drew and Nina are pure snark with each other, but Nina wants Brennan to help her with Willow. Brennan says she needs to stay out of it. Ava and Drew meet. Once again, Brennan mouths off to another person (in this case, Ava) to warn her about Drew. Drew tells Ava that Brennan thinks he has power over him but that will soon change. Nina runs to Willow to see what is going on. Willow regrets pushing for full custody and says Michael has all the power now.

FUN FACTS: Michael takes a morning swim in the lake every day; Lucas thinks Hudson is a hottie; Laura thinks her relationship with Kevin is very special; Tristan was a field agent in the WSB for five years; Lucas rented in Marina Towers, Apartment 5E, off Charles Street. Chicagoans know Marina City (or Marina Towers), a Chicago landmark mixed use (apartment) building on the Chicago River.

ELIZABETH’S PLOT POINT: She bought an unassembled bookcase so Dante offered to put it together for her. Ric shows Sonny the ring he got Elizabeth and he questions why he’s proposing now. Sonny tells him to slow down and Ric agrees until he sees Dante and Liz through the window of Liz’s house, then bursts in, making a fool of himself. He takes off and Dante had already ordered pizza so they chat about Ric over dinner.

“He’s not IN his underwear. He’s in compression shorts, Ric!”

TOTAL FANTASY: Isaiah and Portia. What is more unbelievable - Isaiah dropping his case? Portia looking fabulous in all these summer dresses? Her clearance to make love soon after giving birth?

“I want to sing Earth, Wind & Fire’s ‘Fantasy’ to you!”

DRAG ME TO HELL: Will this day before Curtis has to go to prison EVER end? He’s everywhere today, including an AA meeting with Alexis. But finally, FINALLY, Friday was a NEW DAY in Port Charles and again, it was all about Curtis!

“Seriously, my only appearance this week is to remind you not to fall ill to the temptations of prison?”

Michael hasn’t chosen a CEO for Aurora while Curtis is gone. Curtis suggests Jordan. She accepts.

“A couple of years ag

Curtis escorts Jordan to Aurora the next day where she is going to be brought up to speed by Michael. Then he visits Des again.

Didn’t Curtis say goodbye to his son already?

When’s Trina going to turn to the dad that raised her - Taggert?

SPEAKING OF HELL: LuLu’s lack of a life. She tracks Charlotte to Edgar Island and Val informs her she’s there with Danny, who is a capable speed boat driver. Carly and Val tell her she needs to get a life. They suggest Pickleball. Ric calls LuLu to warn her that Dante and Liz are about to get together unless they act now. LuLu doesn’t take it seriously, but Ric is worried. LuLu wonders if she’ll ever have someone special like Dante again. Laura wonders if she is still in love with him. LuLu feels like a fool about Cassius. She tells Laura that Dante was her life but there will be no repeat with them.

“It was a busy week for me so I’m glad we have this time where I can sit here and whine about my life to you, so I really don’t want to hear how perfect your relationship with Kevin is…”

Meanwhile, Val is impressed with Carly’s letting go of Joss and he hopes that she reminds him of this in six years when Charlotte reaches Joss’ age. Carly is happy that he thinks they will be together in six years.

NAME DROPPING: Lucas drops Bobbie’s name to Carly; Tristan drops Robert Scorpio, Sean Donelly and Frisco Jones’ names in his conversation with Anna, who guesses he was a field agent.

“Shoot!” - Anna; “To kill.” - Tristan; “Yep, you were a field agent.” - Anna

GENTLE REMINDER: Lucas reminds Carly how alike she and Joss are and that Joss is a strong woman who wants to help people. But she has to stop controlling her. He points out their mother, Bobbie spoke her opinion but then didn’t interfere. Meanwhile, after Carly tries to enlist Hudson, he hands the list over to Michael, who Joss is using as her consultant.

ROOMMATES: Lucas informs Ava he’s moving out and she’s sad - she’ll miss having someone to come home to. They go to see Lucas’ new apartment and Ava offers her decorating skills and Lucas accepts. It’s the same apartment that Joe has rented from Lucy, but she couldn’t work her tablet to get Joe’s signature to go through.

WILLOW ON SITE: Willow moved back into the Gatehouse and Chase took notice immediately as he was apparently jogging by, shirtless. He pitched right in to help her with moving boxes (where did all this stuff come from and why did Willow have it?). Willow played it to her advantage and Chase, once again, complimented her on how selfless she is! Willow makes sure she gets rid of Yuri quickly so that Chase is the only one helping her.

“Yuri, I left something back at my old place. Can you go get it while I talk to Chase?”

Tracy asks Yuri to keep an eye on things with Willow.

MY DAUGHTER, MY HELPER: Serena thinks going after Michael would put her in the Call Girl category. Later, when Lucy was showing Joe the apartment, he took the opportunity to grill her about the accident. She squirmed her way out of her statement successfully to Joe’s satisfaction.

ANNA IS STILL BANANAS: She and Sonny talked mental health and Anna was still weepy; she inquires about buying some land from Sonny; later, she guesses that Tristan was a field agent when he introduces himself by buying her a drink. Anna is glad Tristan is out and that he isn’t damaged. Only one jump scare from Peterik this week!

REPURPOSED SET OF THE WEEK: Jordan’s bedroom in her fancy apartment was Gregory Chase’s bedroom where he died in his sleep. We also got a love montage we didn’t ask for as Curtis makes love to Jordan one last time.

Don't look through that porthole window or you will catch Curtis and Jordan going at it. Gregory just had his dreams there before he died.

HE’S BACK: And he’s the topic of discussion from Ava to Drew to Sonny, who goes to visit Sidwell at Pentonville and tells him beige isn’t his color. Sidwell wonders if he should have taken his chances in court instead of his plea deal. Sidwell blames the fire bomb that almost killed Michael on Cullum. He also wonders if Sonny is going to have him offed in prison but Sonny says he will be content to see him rot instead. Sidwell laughs at Sonny’s announcement that he is going legit.

Picture it. Pentonville, 2026.

PUTTING TWO AND TWO TOGETHER: Hudson quickly figured out who Phoebe is when Chase and BLQ brought her down to the lake where Joss and Hudson were working. Meanwhile, Chase reiterates his loyalty to BLQ and she admits she isn’t thrilled that Willow is here.

“Can you repeat the story of how you got to adopt that precious baby again?”

TRINA AND HER TINY TANTRUMS: She’s sad (boo-hoo) so she didn’t do her “homework” for her and Gio’s song. They meet at The Surf Lounge and Emma and her friend Quinn from the shelter come meet Gio and Trina. Trina is surprised that Quinn works at the shelter and he is all over her with his solicitousness.

“Quinn? A volunteer? I guess first impressions CAN be wrong!” - Trina “Sure! My first impression of you was that you were bad for Kai!” - Quinn

Simon meets with Gio, Trina and Ema and wants, once again, to promote them as a couple. Simon doesn’t look too pleased when Trina and Gio balk at the idea.

Simon wants to know, is this good enough for Face of the Day on the GH Snark page?

Trina babysits Des while Portia is off with Isaiah and Portia wants to make herself scarce the next morning for when Curtis comes by to see Des one more time.

KAI IS GOING BYE-BYE: Kai tenders his resignation with Willow (obviously, because she knows he was a witness to her attempted murder). Willow tries to blame it on Kai, but he lays into her. She tries to issue a warning that he can’t walk away from something this complicated, but he says “Watch me!”

“Hi! We’re taking a survey of attempted murderers in the neighborhood and I came across your name. Do you have a few minutes to answer some questions?”

LETTING HER HAVE IT: Joss goes after Britt and warns Jason about her. Jason wants to hear Britt’s side of the story and why she told Cassius that Joss was a WSB agent. He tells her if he knew Cassius was not Nathan, he would have put a stop to it but Britt reiterates that Cassius was not cruel. After she confesses all, Jason asks her to never tell him lies again.

Happiness is a warm hug because it’s in my contract no passionate scenes!”

Meanwhile, Joss is off to meet Anna and meets Tristan, too. He gives her some advice: to focus on the good she did, and not the bad outcomes of undercover work.

FASHION: Remember Michael’s ill-fitting Sears suits? Current Michael fills out his suits much, much better and actually looks like he is running several companies.

THINGS ARE NOT GOING SWIMMINGLY: Rocco is going to take care of things in Laura’s apartment while she goes out of town. He’s worried that if Drew finds out he and Scout are hanging out that he’ll be banned. Meanwhile, Scout is going to lie, if necessary, so she can keep seeing her brother. Danny insults Drew and Scout gets hurt but reminds Danny that she loves her Dad no matter what. Danny says he will try not to insult Drew in the future. Danny fills in Charlotte on Drew’s dirty deeds - sleeping with Willow, Nina, doing drugs and caught getting high with a hooker and Rocco overhears them and wonders what they are up to. Rocco thinks that Danny should just lay low and Charlotte agrees with Rocco. Danny agrees to drop his idea of blackmailing Drew when Scout is in earshot. When Rocco and Scout head off to play video games, Danny tells Charlotte he was surprised that Charlotte agreed with Rocco but Charlotte tells him she just let him think she did.

Drew, meanwhile, sits down to talk shop with Ava but Portia is her breakfast date. Drew apologizes and Portia says she has no idea whether he is sincere or not and she’s not ready to accept his apology so they agree to stay out of each other’s way.

NEW PITCH: While Drew is making the rounds, he stops at Aurora to see Curtis but is confronted by Michael and new C.E.O. Jordan. Michael wants no part of Drew but Jordan thinks Drew would be good for Aurora. Michael defers to his new C.E.O. When Drew leaves, Jordan reveals her calculating by saying “Keep your friends close, your enemies closer.” Michael says he has the right person for the job.

WARBLING WONDER: Trina warbles a tune to her captive audience of one (baby brother) over a montage of Curtis going to prison. GH leaned too hard with Curtis and his claim that Isaiah was the other driver and now they are working our last nerve to make us feel sorry for Curtis. Did it work? Absolutely not.

The Warbling Wonder and her captive audience (both behind bars and in her arms).
