Mark Pesce · A Practical Futurist

G’day everyone, Mark Pesce here, author of Getting Started with ChatGPT and AI Chatbots: An introduction to generative AI tools. A big THANK YOU to the 686 of you who have signed up for this monthly newsletter!

In the five weeks since I last emailed you, a lot has happened. So let’s get to it…

Due to ‘high demand and a speedy author’, BCS Publishing has advanced the publication of Getting Started with ChatGPT and AI Chatbots to 6 December - just in time for Christmas! 🥳🎅🏼

It’s been a flurry of edits, proofs and the discovery of a few jaw-dropping mistakes in the manuscript (all now fixed!), and next week the book will be off to the printers.

Why move so fast?

  • Microsoft is rumoured to be preparing to release Windows Copilot for the billion-plus Windows 10 desktops;

  • Meta has rushed out AI chatbots for Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp - reaching 3 billion customers;

  • OpenAI just released ‘GPTs’ - custom personalities that can be tuned to solve all sorts of tasks.

The whole area of AI chatbots is moving faster than anyone had imagined - but very few people know how to use them safely and wisely. That’s why I wrote this book - to help all the folks who want to use these tools, and are looking for a little guidance.

We’ve put together two events - one online, one in-person - to celebrate the launch of Getting Started with ChatGPT and AI Chatbots.

The wonderful folks at Growth Faculty will be hosting an online-only event at 11 am on Wednesday the 29th of November. It’s free for all. If you’d like to register to attend, click the button below.

On the 6th of December - the publication date of my book - I’ll be hosting an in-person event at Tank Stream Labs, Level 6, 11 York Street in Sydney.

We’ll explore all the interesting (and weird) ways AI chatbots have already changed our lives - with an eye to how we can use them safely and wisely. I’m trying hard to make sure books will be available to buy, and I’ll happily sign books brought along to or purchased at the event.

The WindowsCopilot.news website brings you the most important stories about AI chatbots, the news you need to keep yourself and your organisations safe and secure during this transformation.

If you don’t have time for that, check out our weekly newsletter, featuring the top news stories, tips, techniques and lessons learned about how to work safely and wisely with AI chatbots.

Finally, thank you for subscribing to this newsletter. Please share it with anyone who could benefit from learning how to work in this new world - where AI chatbots are everywhere - safely and wisely.
