Nixon closed the gold window 55 years ago today.

Gold was $35 that night. It is north of $4,300 this morning.

Governments that cannot tax or grow their way out of a debt problem inflate their way out instead, and the bill ALWAYS lands on the person holding the currency.

My friend Sam Kovacs launched the premium version of his research this morning, and he picked that date on purpose.

Why I pay attention to him:

He wrote up Aveanna at the end of July, a home nursing company serving medically complex children, on the argument that this is the one line in the federal budget no politician will ever vote against.

The stock is up more than 30% since.

He also told his readers in July that he would not touch a gold miner with a ten foot pole, then waited for the breakout to confirm on the 5th of August before buying. That one is up 12%.

Saying no in public and then saying yes in public takes a spine most people in this business do not have.
