We seem to be batting a .1000 on the prophetic and analytical fronts here at Kentucky Fried Christian.

We just delivered a Substack last week, “The Deus Digitalis Delusion,” in which something we predicted 3 years ago would come about, has now come about.

And today?

Here we go again.

When we talked about the danger represented by Texas’ Senate candidate, Democrat Party operative and Christian cosplaying scholar James Talarico a few months ago, we discussed how he likely represents a wave of Democrat candidates for the 2026 US midterms that’ll be pretending to be all things to all people so they can rope in as many naïve and gullible voters to the Democrat side as they can, by pretending to be all sorts of things they aren’t, to appeal to all sorts of people who are.

And that Talarico’s playing the Christian card in that deck, to woo weak-willed and weak-faithed Christians into voting Democrat—with the appearance of Christian solidarity that goes with identity politics—while in reality representing nothing but pride, false teaching and apostasy.

True to what we said a few months ago...

Here comes another James Talarico.

This one in Kansas, with Democrat Party Senate candidate Rev. Adam Hamilton.

According to a Breitbart News article:

“Hamilton is running for the U.S. Senate in Kansas against incumbent Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS). The senior pastor of the Church of the Resurrection, the largest United Methodist congregation in the country, won the Democrat primary this month.”

Right out of the gate: I’m not one to tell other people their business.

But I can make fair observations.

And it seems to me men who present themselves as ‘men of God’—whose entire reason of being ultimately revolves around shepherding the flock of dependent believers the Lord gave them to shepherd—but who then choose to enter into a secular profession, like national politics, are abandoning their spiritual calling for a secular pursuit.

For whatever reasons or out of whatever motivations, makes no difference.

If we claim we’re called to be shepherds of flocks of faithful, but then embark on secular careers like national politics, we’re violating a key principle of the Lord Yeshua’s doctrine, which he articulates in Matthew 6:24:

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Add to that what Paul says about the table of the Lord and tables of demons (1 Corinthians 10:21), not getting involved in the civilian affairs of the world (as opposed to the spiritual affairs of our struggle—2 Timothy 2:4), and keeping away from the things of the world (1 John 2:15-17), and that pretty much spells out what it means for a shepherd of the flock to “take on a day job.”

If it’s not possible to serve both God and Mammon, then being a faithful, obedient and effective shepherd of a flock of dependent believers who need him to minister to their needs intimately, which he can’t do if he’s busy politicking and pork barreling in Washington, DC, is kind of disqualifying of a shepherd as a shepherd anymore, in this believing observer’s humble opinion.

Which is why if a man who claims to have been called by God to shepherd a flock of believers wants to go into politics, that’s his personal choice he’s free to make.

But it also means once he makes it, he can’t be a shepherd anymore; because he’s devoting himself to something other than his flock, which the Lord Jesus tells us we can’t do even in principle as believers—split our loyalties—let alone as somebody with the responsibility of ensuring the integrity of the faith of others, upon which their eternal spiritual fate rests.

So the Rev. Adam Hamilton, in all good conscience, shouldn’t still be carrying the title.

If I were in his position, I, in good conscience, couldn’t be.

Because of everything I just finished explaining.

Aside from that, what kind of candidate is Adam Hamilton turning out to be?

In short, James Talarico, except from Kansas instead of Texas…

Who appears to be another Democrat Party operative masquerading as a Christian, and this time a pastor.

Here’s what the good pastor had to say during a 2015 event run by an LGBTQ-affirming Christian group, during a pastors’ panel hosted by the Reformation Project: a nonprofit founded in 2013 by Matthew Vines, with the specific mission of reforming church teaching on sexual orientation and gender identity.

In other words, an LGBTQ project to subvert the integrity of the Christian faith from within, by eroding faithfulness in God’s eternal word and adherence to his laws and commandments, especially on sexual immorality, with permissiveness to sin and sexual immorality disguised as ‘enlightened compassion,’ that transcends the so-called ‘anachronistic bigotry of the Bible.’

A strong indication Adam Hamilton’s most likely a deep state Democrat political operative rather than a sincere minister of God’s word?

Notice how quickly and directly he jumped from, “Some kids came up to me and told me they were gay,” to “The Bible’s all wrong! Paul’s all wrong! God is violent and cruel!”

He insisted he values Holy Scripture, but one question from a group of gay kids was enough to suddenly make him start questioning the entire validity of God and his word.

During the panel, he also said (according to the Breitbart article), the Bible contains ‘hundreds’ of errors.

He claimed the apostle Paul’s wrong about a lot of things, and he makes it his mission to find them all. He suggested, wholly unbiblically, that Muslims, Hindus, and adherents of other faiths would reach heaven and recognize Jesus after death.

Back to the video, though, in which Hamilton jumps—without any logical segue or any natural, organic progression from one topic to the next (which is a strong indication of somebody talking with memorized and programmed talking points)—suddenly and without explanation or even a tie in, from gay kids, to how he can’t reconcile how cruelly violent God is in the Old Testament.

And then this:

“The scripture says that God says these things that is so absolutely incompatible with the life that Jesus lived, and what he said and what he taught.”

Which is a typical and tired trope dragged out by most false teachers to try to sow doubt in the validity of God’s word: by portraying God as a cruel, malicious, merciless, violent mass murderer who can’t possibly be believed or trusted.

Without considering the role of God’s holy and righteous judgment; covenants; all Israel’s agreement to abide by covenants and then its betrayal of them; systemic sinfulness before God’s supreme and ultimate holiness and righteousness; the repeated times God gave Israel chances to repent and return before delivering judgment; the repeated times God gave Israel permission to defeat their enemies, along with the repeated times he forbad them from going against them, along with the repeated times he punished them for their disobedient excesses in dealing with their enemies...

All of which a pastor schooled in God’s word would, we assume, be aware of as the explanation.

Like the Lord Yeshua tells Nicodemus in John 3:10 while explaining being born again in the spirit to the religious teacher:

“You are Israel’s teacher and do you not understand these things?”

And then, try to throw at people like Adam Hamilton, that contrary to what he says here in this clip, nothing in the OT is incompatible with the life of the Lord Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah, because the LORD of the OT is the Lord Yeshua in preincarnate form: as the Son of the Father; as the creator of the universe, (John 1:1-5); as the Lord the God of Israel (Deuteronomy 6:4).

God the Son, in Spirit, in the Holy Triunity, is the executive arm of God the Father. It’s through the Son that the Father acts:

“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” John 5:19.

In the OT, when we hear the ‘LORD’ speaking, we’re hearing God the Son speaking in the name of God the Father, in the same way the prophets speak for, and in the name, and with the voice of, Adonai, the voice of the Lord.

In Isaiah 43:14, the LORD starts out saying: “This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel...” making a direct reference to himself as the savior of Israel, whom all of God’s prophetic word says, and the NT proves, is the Lord Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah...

Who then goes on to say in Isaiah 43:15:

“I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator, your King.”

So the OT LORD tells us he’s the Creator of the Universe, the King of Israel and its Redeemer, who is the Messiah, who is the Lord Yeshua.

Whose life and teachings not only aren’t incompatible with the God of the OT, but reflections and extensions of that same God’s presence and power in the world.

The Lord Yeshua who said, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” (Mark 12:31), is the same LORD who said exactly the same thing in Leviticus 19:18.

The Lord Yeshua who said, “The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die,” in John 11:25-26, is the same LORD who said (via the Holy Spirit speaking through the psalmist), “Because he loves me... I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name,” in Psalm 91:14.

The Lord Yeshua, who healed thousands of people and even brought a few back from death, is the same LORD who said, “I am the LORD who heals you,” in Exodus 15:26.

And the Lord Yeshua, who said, “But unless you repent, you too will all perish,” in Luke 13:3, is also the same LORD who said, “The one who sins is the one who will die,” in Ezekiel 18:4.

We can go on and on, but I trust the point’s been made.

So nothing between the God of the Old Testament and the life, teachings and behavior of Lord Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah, is in any least way incompatible.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” Matthew 5:17

Hamilton also makes the claim that because the nations around ancient Israel used their fake gods as the excuses with which (or for which), to go to war, that must mean this is the same thing Israel was doing; and so much of what’s in the Old Testament is culturally manmade, and not the word of God and the historical chronicle of its working in the world.

By which he’s also saying, “The God of the OT is a made-up, false god just like all the others.”

Does that sound like a faithful and obedient man of God talking about the word of God he accepts in faith?

Or more like a political and spiritual operative with an agenda to weaken the faith from within?

Does that sound like a pastor who should know God’s word well enough to know what the apostle Peter says in 2 Peter 1:20-21:

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

Another indication Hamilton’s likely a political operative masquerading as a man of God, and not a sincerely faithful and obedient shepherd of the faithful?

From a Breitbart News Aug. 17 X post, we learn that during the Covid pandemic and lockdowns, “Rev. Adam Hamilton told the vaccine-hesitant members of his church that getting a COVID shot would be an ‘act of discipleship’ and insinuated they weren’t loving their neighbors...” if they refused to get one.

Does that sound like the heart of a man who cares about the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health and well-being of his faithful, frightened flock at a desperate time?

Or more like a political operative using his position as a faith leader to lure his flock into potentially fatal actions they wouldn’t in their right minds take, with an extortionary threat like, “Your’e not a real believer if you don’t take the jab?”

The Rev. Adam Hamilton’s the shepherd of one of the largest flocks in the country, who’s also publicly casting doubts on the validity of God’s word, and on the validity of God himself.

He claims we’re now smarter and advanced enough over the uneducated goatherds—that people like Hamilton feel are the kinds of people who originated Holy Scripture out of their own anachronistic, patriarchal fantasies—to be able to pick and choose out of God’s word what’s correct and what isn’t according to our big, modern brains and our big, modern, enlightened morality.

The kind of morality that says it’s a mortal sin to deny climate change, but raping women by the thousands is okay because “it’s a cultural thing and all cultures are equal.”

That says it’s ‘hate speech’ to publicly quote Bible verses, but it’s okay for fully naked men to parade around, simulate sex and celebrate sexual depravity in front of families with children; or for mothers with the sads to methodically murder their toddlers and infants.

Reverend Adam Hamilton says God’s word has to be wrong and corrected.

What does God’s word say?

Strap yourselves in:

2 Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God a may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

John 17:17: “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”

Psalm 119:160: “All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.”

Deuteronomy 4:2: “Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.”

1 Corinthians 8:2: “Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.”

Jeremiah 8:8-9: “‘How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?’”

James 3:15: “Such ‘wisdom’ does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.”

1 Corinthians 1:25: “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”

1 John 5:9-10: “We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.”

Job 38:2-7, 40:2, 40:7-8: “‘Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone—while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?... Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!... Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?’”

So what kind of man of God does the Reverend Adam Hamilton appear to be?

The kind who works for a political organization and not a spiritual one, and for money and not for heavenly treasures.

The kind we said a few months ago would be appearing during these US midterms to try to poison the momentum that faithful and obedient Christianity has been having on the political direction of America lately, and to try and lure more Christians out of the Lord’s sheep pen and rope them into the Not-OK Corral of the deep state Democrat Socialist Party of America, with a lot of “...hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ,” as the Paul whom Adam Hamilton claims is all wrong, writes in Colossians 2:8.

The kind the half brother of the Lord Yeshua, Ya’akov, warns sternly in James 3:1:

“Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.”

The kind who’s somebody that either doesn’t know the truth, or is knowingly lying about it.

The kind that according to all that, really has no business shepherding the faithful.

The Lord’s half-brother is absolutely right.

Not many of us should become teachers.

Or pretend to become them.
