Title says it all: do not use Sectorlink for any sort of web hosting.
I had service ending fairly soon, and I went into the portal to make sure that my automatic renewal was turned off because I thought I had. Well, it wasn’t turned off.
So I went to the cancel service page, looking for an option to turn it off. There was no option. So I clicked “Cancel” to back out of the cancellation, and it didn’t do that; it cancelled my service.
This was terribly confusing to me. The “Cancel” button is what usually stops an action, especially since this button was on the left, which is what I am used to for a cancel button.
Well, I emailed saying that I hadn’t intended to cancel. They gave me a $30 charge to turn it back on.
I called to contest the charge, and the customer service rep, who yelled at me, twice, still insisted on charging me $30 to turn service back on. Well, I couldn’t afford an extra $30, so I just had to deal with service being cancelled and being without a website or a remote backup for over a month.
If you have been wondering why this website hasn’t existed for a month, yes, this is why.
In other words, poor UX and a terrible customer service rep cost me some of the hosting time I paid for.
Don’t host with Sectorlink.
