Two years ago, I did an MS-Selfie newsletter on ‘The annual MS follow-up consultation’ (Jun 26, 2023), making the case that more than 15 minutes is needed for an annual follow-up appointment. Many of you agreed with me, and the discussion this generated was more than interesting. I would urge you to read this old newsletter.
Since then, my thinking has evolved, and, wearing my preventive neurology hat, I now believe the annual review should be controlled by the person with the disease. Yes, you, the person with MS. You have to be prepared for the consultation so that you maximise the use of the 15 minutes you have with your neurologist or MS nurse specialist. To help, I prepared an Excel spreadsheet for you to download. Since I released version 1.0, I have received some feedback from you and have tried to incorporate all the changes you recommended into version 2.0.
I would appreciate it if you could review this version and let me know if anything is missing and what needs to be added. More importantly, is this something you would use? There is no use creating a self-management tool or prompt if nobody uses it.
I have also made it available online via Google Sheets, or you can download the Excel version here.
Thanks
