I’m writing today’s Syllabus from an empty living room floor. I returned my couch over the weekend and have it in my mind that I’m going to happen upon a stunning sofa at an estate sale in the near future thus becoming the envy of local interior designers. No luck yet. So for now, I am sitting alongside my daughter while she puts a lego set together. Later, I’m going to walk to the market on the corner and get some kind of stone fruit to eat while I re-read one of my favorite books from high school, Seven Daughters and Seven Sons, which is about a girl who dresses like a man so she can get her money up. Classic.
