Making Amends
In this sermon, I challenge us to move beyond focusing on the ways we've been hurt and instead take responsibility for the ways we've hurt others. Drawing from Steps Eight and Nine of the recovery journey, confession, forgiveness, and making amends are essential to restoring broken relationships and reflecting the love of Christ. Through powerful Biblical teaching and practical examples, this message reveals that the opposite of addiction is not simply sobriety but genuine connection rooted in love. As we shift from a life centered on "me" to one centered on "you," we discover the freedom, healing, and joy that come from living for others.
Path to Lasting Freedom
In Week 6 of the Everything's Fine: The Lies We Tell Ourselves series, I explore the power of ongoing spiritual growth through Steps ten and eleven of the recovery journey. Rather than searching for a quick fix, we should take an honest inventory of our lives, recognize the patterns that keep us stuck, and intentionally pursue the habits that lead to lasting freedom. Drawing from Colossians, the Psalms, and practical recovery principles, real transformation happens as we stay connected to God day after day. Our greatest victories come not simply from avoiding sin, but from cultivating a life centered on God's presence through prayer, worship, and obedience. Whether you're battling addiction, unhealthy habits, or everyday struggles, this message offers hope that freedom is found not in perfection, but in continually walking with Jesus.
