The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is opening a 14-day public comment period for the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for Proposed Revocation of Public Land Order No. 7923.

Jesse Jones of New Mexico Political Report writes that Chairman Joey Sanchez and Pueblo governors from the council’s 20-member Pueblo nations in New Mexico and Texas joined Sens. Martin Heinrich and Ben Ray Luján and Reps. Teresa Leger Fernández, Melanie Stansbury and Gabe Vasquez outside the U.S. Capitol to urge Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to withdraw a proposal that would revoke Public Land Order 7923. Issued in 2023, the order withdrew about 336,000 acres of federal land surrounding Chaco Culture National Historical Park from new oil and gas leasing for 20 years. The delegation also called on the Interior Department to extend its 14-day public comment period to 90 days and conduct meaningful government-to-government consultation with tribes before making a decision.

This Public Land Order would open the landscape to up to 14 new oil and gas wells. It could bring light pollution and air pollution and fragment habitat,  threatening irreplaceable cultural artifacts, wildlife, and the park’s famous dark skies.

Did you know that this beefhead served under President Barack Obama as the executive associate director of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), where he earned a Presidential Rank Award in 2015?

When you get all misty-eyed about Barack, remember that it was then that Homan proposed the potential effectiveness of family separation of which the Obama administration concurred.

If Homan wasn’t already adjoined to the dark side then, in 2018, he worked as a Fox News contributor, ran the border security nonprofit Border911, and contributed to the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025.

Them there Hard-core Republicans sho do luv them sum can-dee-dates who brag about abusing women as long as they stand for “God, Family, Freedom.” Mark Lamb, the former Pinal County sheriff, is in the running for Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District, and he has *rump’s backing.

This guy fits right in with the right-wing loonies running rampant in Arizona, mostly held at bay by the triumvirate of Katie Hobbs, Kris Mayes, and Adrien Fontes. (Vote!!)

He’s so out there that the New York Times did a piece on him which I’m gifting to you.

Jess Bidgood reports that In May, an investigation by The Arizona Republic laid out a complex web of allegations against Lamb. It cited women who alleged that he had sent intimate photos outside his marriage, had flirted using a campaign social media account, and had facilitated an affair between his wife and a friend who worked on his campaign and for the sheriff’s department. The Republic also reported that he made racist jokes over text, and that he seemed to be spending a lot of his time at a ranch in Tennessee 1,500 miles away. The Republic also reported that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which Lamb is a member, had examined claims of impropriety against him.

Like how your tax dollars are being spent these days? After the House passed $1.1 trillion in funding for the military this week, your panties might be doing a bit of shifting. Mine are twisting…

It may not pass the Senate but it’s good to know who the Dems are that voted away money that could be much better spent: Reps. Henry Cuellar (Texas), Don Davis (N.C.), Jared Golden (Maine), Vicente Gonzalez (Texas), Adam Gray (Calif.) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.).

Anybody down with the cyclosporiasis? Not Taylor Farms fault, especially after their $1 million donation to the Trump-aligned super PAC MAGA Inc on March 26, 2025. That’s just six days after the FDA announced it was pushing back the implementation of its “Food Traceability Rule” by 30 months.
