Gary Edward Schnittjer · Carpenter's Student with Gary Edward Schnittjer

This book has been on my mind for years and years. Some of the things that led up to the idea for Connected . . .

  • learning to study the Bible in college especially trying pass my classes with John Cawood and Rennie Showers

  • trying not to fail out of my first semester of seminary in Howard Hendricks’ class on Bible study

  • my years of serving as TA for Hendricks and his Bible study class

  • not knowing what to say in my first teaching assignment “Principles of Interpretation” at Bryan College before the turn of the century

Somewhere amid all of that, the idea stuck in my head that the Bible is loaded with untapped teachings about how to study the Bible. I realized that’s a book that needs to be written. I have been going on about these things in my classes for a long time. I jumped at the chance to put it on paper for B&H Academic.

So it’s here!

Don’t wait. Take a look.

Here’s what they say on the back cover:

Here’s what it says on page 2:

This book is written for two kinds of readers. If you are just getting started studying the Bible, this book is for you. No prior knowledge of the Bible is needed. Each element of the Bible and of Bible study is introduced along the way. If you have been studying the Bible for a while, or even a long time, but wish to better understand how it’s connected, this book is for you. The Bible’s connections change everything. Begin anew and let the Bible’s connections breathe new life into your study.

See an intro to Connected in the Island of Misfit Verses.

Eleven days that changed Bible study for good.

Where nothing is more important than Christ and his word.
