Summer time is hibiscus time! I adore hibiscus - and you can too. The secret for me in the Southwest is to grow them in containers in bright filtered light all day long. Never full sun. They are very happy tucked in under the acacia trees where they get ample light but not direct sunlight.
Something about canna flowers - so delicate and almost magical. There are so many cultivars to choose from too! They are relatively easy to care for but are not a low water plant. I grow mine in with the bottom inch of their pots in the fish pond - where they can soak up all the water they want.
