Came here for some general gardening advice. I've had a garden every year for 4 years in a row with little success. I feel like I have learned a lot but I am about to plant another round for winter gardening and I am sick of AI plant websites just spewing non factual information haha.

Welcome @Foggy. I love winter gardening and find it is about the best time of year to grow stuff here.

A lot of the members here share your view and are eager to share their own gardening experiences with others. You've come to the right place.

As Kenneth Williams used to say as Aurthur Fallowfield, "The answer lies in the soil". Good plants need good soil, it doesn't happen overnight, but keep putting in the compost, manure, green manure and such, and hoeing to let in air and moisture, and it will come right in the end.
I went on my village facebook and asked if anyone had horse manure, I can now pick up as much as I can use, people with horses don't know what to do with it after a while, they pay peole to take it away.
Welcome to the forum, the search function (top right) is great for specific problems.

Afterthought, check horse manure for weedkiller. They put it on the grass for hay sometimes and it goes straight through the horse. Plant a bean in a pot of manure and see if it grows normally.

Welcome Foggy. :) There are all types of gardeners here to give you a helping hand.
