Knowing who you are—and what you like—can sometimes look a little bit boring from the outside.
Now I (mostly) know who I am, so:
I don’t accept random invitations with insane people —> I have less crazy stories to tell.
I know I want to spend my summer in Corsica —> all my summers look the same.
I’ve been loving the same clothes for twenty years —> I’m the least fashion-y fashion creator.
I could go on.
Sometimes I wish I was still the fomo-driven-yes-person-eternally-guided-by-her-curiosity young woman I used to be. I’d have many more clothes to show, many more stories to tell. But sometimes—to reassure myself—I think these stories wouldn’t have the same depth. I’d probably be truly bored to death if I was still a fish out of water in a high-profile party. Even more boring if I was a fish IN water.
So here I am, simply home.
And also, how gorgeous it is to feel the warm embrace of the familiar, to go back to a place that you don’t need to discover?
How calming, how comforting?
To wear the same clothes, summer after summer? My men’s linen shirts in extra extra large so I can wear them as dresses, my simple swimsuits, my sunglasses—I’ve probably had these for ten years? I update a few things of course, but keep the same vibe, the same blacks, whites and blues, the browns.
I love how washed out clothes worn for years feel, I love that they carry memories and most of all, I love that they remind me of who I am.
I love how chill this all feels. And if there are times when I feel like, shit, I should shop more so I could share more, I always try to remind myself that being real is the most exciting outfit of them all.
On top of it, right now I’m budget conscious (my type of maths = a pair of Alaïa flats = a mature palm tree for my land. But in ten years, my palm tree will be thriving, while my Alaïas… ) so it makes my paired down style even more comforting and feel even more like… Home.
That’s my summer style for you!
I have one dress I’ll talk to you about next week. Same vibe, versatile, comfortable and easy. And it makes me so happy.

In my last Letter I share the story of what happened when I decided to put myself first, and how hard (and necessary) it’s been. It’s called The Life List and you can read it here. In my last You can watch our last live
