Gananoque firefighters sharpen marine response skills during specialized training exercise
Members of the Gananoque Fire Service took to the water Wednesday evening for specialized training focused on marine firefighting operations and water supply techniques used during emergency responses.
The hands-on session included instruction and practical exercises involving marine operations, portable pump deployment and drafting water from fire apparatus — skills that can prove critical during incidents involving shoreline properties, islands, watercraft or areas where traditional hydrant access may be limited.
