Coach Chad Johnson · GameDay Systems

Football has a way of exposing problems fast.

You leave a scrimmage and realize your OL isn’t communicating.

Your combos aren’t getting any movement.

Backside penetration is killing a play.

Your protection doesn’t look right against an odd front.

You need a better way to grade your OL, track stats, break down and opponent, or getting scouting information into your players’ hands.

Those are the kinds of problems I want the Vault helping coaches solve right now.

This week was probably one of our most practical in-season weeks yet.

Here’s what was added:

This folder was built for busy coaches who don’t have time to scroll through 500 resources. It’s easy to access and will be a growing library of In-Season Answers that coaches can find quickly.

The complete template AND an example are finished.

This gives coaches a way to take everything they’ve learned during opponent breakdown and turn it into something clean and useful that can actually be handed to their players each week.

This week we added answers for:

- When your combos aren’t getting movement

- When your OL aren’t finishing blocks

- When your OL won’t communicate

- When backside penetration is killing the play

These aren’t articles for something you might encounter someday.

These are problems somebody is dealing with Monday morning.

Eight pages built to help coaches organize opponent tendencies, fronts, pressures, coverages, situations, and the information that actually matters when building the game plan.

- Offensive Stat Tracker

- Defensive Stat Tracker

- OL Play-By-Play Grader

- 3-page Sunday Staff Meeting Agenda

- Office Hour Video: Adjusting Protection to Odd Fronts

- How We Teach the Jump Set

- TE Player Quiz #1

- Painkiller 43 - 7 Questions OCs should ask after a bad series.

- 7 new drill videos

- 8 new game videos

THIS IS WHERE I WANT THE VAULT HEADED

The manuals and complete systems will always be a huge part of GameDay Systems.

But during the season, coaches don’t always need another 100-page manual.

Sometimes you need one answer.

One adjustment.

One worksheet.

One drill.

One clip of a play you want to install.

One idea you can take into Monday’s meeting and immediately install.

That’s why I’m putting so much emphasis on in-season help and quick answers right now.

As new problems come up, I’m going to keep building resources around them.

I’ll keep adding to the OL Coach’s In-Season Guide, How We Teach It, Office Hours, player resources, drill videos, game film, and the growing collection of in-season coaching tools.

I also want to keep leaning harder into game-planning now that the season is here — specific problems, specific defensive looks, and practical answers coaches can actually carry into a Friday night.

And as usual, something else will probably pop into my head during the week and end up in the Vault too.

If you’re already a member, use this stuff.

Don’t just collect it.

Go into the In-Season Help folder when you have a problem. Grab the scouting report for your players. Use the graders and trackers. Watch the film. Steal a drill. Print a checklist.

That’s what all of this is being built for.
