The McAllen Napkin Challenge is officially open to the RGV community
Write a short poem or message on a napkin.
Leave it somewhere public (restaurant, library, park bench, etc.) for a stranger to find.
Snap a photo and post it with #McAllenNapkinChallenge.
Also tag #McAllenPoetLaureate and #GabrielHugoPoetLaureate so I can see every single one.
As publisher of The Raving Press, I’ll treat every entry as a submission for a possible print anthology in fall 2026—if we get enough good ones.
No limit on entries. No strict theme.
No one has ever done this as a community challenge before, especially not a poet laureate. Let’s make history, one napkin at a time. 💛
