The front is: your family’s holiday card with everyone photogenically laughing in front of a brand new pizza oven and renovated backyard.
The back is: your tucked away double chin, a rusting oven, and contractors who ghosted you.

The back is: what am I doing with my life, who decided I am capable of running a household, I would like to step down from this position please, let’s bring in someone more qualified, why am I so volatile, is it hormones, pre-diabetes, is it because I’m a Gemini???

For the animations, I started by drawing on paper with alcohol markers and letting the ink run out (no such thing as waste). In between marks, I scanned both the front and back of the paper. I used Photoshop’s animation timeline to string the frames together.
I was inspired by Estee Zales’s experiments with alcohol marker and the layered look of Orysia Zabeida’s animations.
