On "doing"

I’ve always tried to foster a genuine curiosity for the world around me; discovering good music, even if it’s in a far-from-familiar language I could never understand, or listening to a story of war and family from Serbian janitor I happened to meet late at night on campus. In fact, A guitar player who sits in front of a local weed shop in my university town taught me, what I now know, as my definition of love.

Voltaire had said, “All people are good except those who are idle”1. To me, doing means to welcome the world with open arms; to have intrigue about the nooks and crannies of your journey, the most unassuming rocks to be turned over. You will undoubtedly uncover stories you would’ve never heard, skills you would’ve never known you had…. And my favourite, people you would’ve otherwise never met.

Doing opens you up to the infinite universes which conspire to guide a genuine heart.

I hope to not come off as someone who is all-knowing in life and it’s wisdom. I merely hope to make sense of the thoughts I have, the knowledge I’ve learned, and share them with this little corner of the internet. Perhaps it will influence some form of thought.
