I agree with ths sentiment of this post, even if it is a bit terse. What seems most fishy to me about hit-matches is that they don’t always deliver the kind of epic bonus that is (as I understand it) characteristic of a critical hit in D&D. If I roll a check with Action Score=2 and both d8=1, I have a hit-match but the two results still only get me +2 towards the tally. Nowhere near as powerful as…
